“When I put my career as an environmental scientist on hold to stay at home with my three little girls, a friend told me I was "crazy"!  It's the same reaction I usually get from my peers when I mention Peak Oil or that I want to learn how to make cheese, spin wool and weave my own baskets. 

I yearn for an acre or two, but for now my family live on a small block in suburbia. We grow vegies and dwarf fruit trees, making do with what we have, trying to live lightly and more sustainably, preparing for a future living with the effects of Climate Change and the end of cheap oil.”

This idea started in Melbourne, but can take off anywhere!

The Sharehood is all about sharing resources within your neighbourhood and helps you to meet and make friends with people in your local area. All sorts of things can be shared, such as sewing machines, vegetables, wheelbarrows, tools, cars, books, washing machines and computers. Skills can be shared too: gardening help, bike fixing, accountancy, language skills, childminding, how to use a sewing machine or a computer, how to make wine or dance the tango.

Our mission is to inspire children for a better future. Along the expedition we share examples of nature’s beauty and innovations for a green planet, in class rooms all over the world.

Our key messages is "climate protection" and "enjoy nature through sport but also give something back to nature". The expedition is a reference to demonstrate that great goals and progress can be achieved in balance with nature. Our vision is that TOPtoTOP becomes a lasting platform which inspires children for nature and sport globally."
