About Climat Action Darwin

Climate Action Darwin (CAD) is a group dedicated to responding to the dangers posed by climate change.  CAD emerged early in 2009 after like-minded individuals met up in Darwin City to discuss global warming.  Starting up from just a few members, our mailing list now contains hundreds of affiliates.

Our vision is a safe climate and a sustainable future for all people, all species and all generations. We are committed to overcoming the powerlessness and pessimism that surrounds climate change, and rather, see ourselves as being part of the movement for global sustainability.

Our objective is to stop global warming and promote sustainable living. We aim to do this, firstly, by using community engagement to mobilise the population into wanting and demanding a sustainable lifestyle, and secondly, by engaging with the elected members of our community, both locally and nationally, to support 100% renewable energy targets and other carbon reduction strategies.

You are not alone, and we are not alone. CAD is part of a growing national community climate network that meets annually in Canberra to share ideas and unite in campaigns.
